I was called up by BigFoot music agency for a job, to play 6 hours a day, 4 days in a row. That's actually too much playing, but they said I could take long breaks.

There was a grand piano by the bar, lots of free drinks for people talking about their industry.

Gig at Royal Albert Hall

Yes ! But, no - I wasn't really booked or paid. I used to work at the Royal Albert Hall as stage crew and one night in 2005 I think, we had a party where all the staff got 10 minutes to do something, acting, poetry, singing etc..

I got to play with all the spotlights and a grand piano mic'd up through the pa system.

Hello world - this is my first post to this new blog.

Here I will be telling people about the various gigs I do and uploading photos and videos where I can.

My name is Alex and I am a self-taught London based pianist for hire. I play solo piano at weddings and other events and I also put together jazz duos, trios and other combinations of musicians according to what the client wants and to suit the clients' budget.

Some of the greatest musicians in London have performed with me on events like these for very reasonable prices - certainly much cheaper than any agency would charge.
